Ligero, a startup specializing in zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology for data privacy, has raised $4 million in a seed round co-led by Galaxy Ventures and 1kx. The funding round, structured as a simple agreement for future equity (SAFE) with token warrants, was raised at a $20 million valuation cap. Ligero's core product, Ligetron, is a zero-knowledge virtual machine (zkVM) designed for high-speed performance and memory efficiency. Ligetron can handle 1,000 transactions per second on a single NVIDIA L40S GPU and is suitable for mobile-based ZK rollups. Founded in 2018, Ligero has raised a total of $5.15 million, including a previous $1.15 million round in 2019. The company plans to expand its team to support future growth.
