BlackRock CEO Larry Fink and COO Rob Goldstein wrote in The Economist that asset tokenization is entering an explosive phase similar to the "early days of the internet," reshaping markets at a pace far exceeding traditional financial expectations.

Real-world asset tokenization has grown by approximately 300% over the past 20 months. The shared ledger enabled by blockchain allows nearly all assets to be recorded and traded in a more efficient, transparent, and verifiable manner. Tokenization is still in its early stages—akin to internet nodes in 1996—but its development speed may surpass most people's expectations.

In the future, investors may be able to hold all asset classes, from stocks and bonds to digital assets, within a single digital wallet.
