The EU plans to add new service tariffs and export controls on the US as a retaliatory measure following the breakdown of trade negotiations.

According to the Financial Times, two officials familiar with the negotiations said that if trade negotiations with the United States break down, the EU is preparing a list of potential tariffs and export control measures targeting U.S. services as one of the possible retaliatory measures. The European Commission is drafting this list of measures in response to Trump's tariff policies, and the list still needs to be submitted to EU countries. In addition, EU countries are already discussing a retaliatory proposal targeting 72.00 billion euros of U.S. imports per year (including tariffs on Boeing aircraft, automobiles, and bourbon whiskey), and the newly drafted list will further supplement this.
