According to the Russian TASS news agency, the Russian State Duma has passed a bill on the phased introduction of the digital ruble. The law will take effect on September 1, 2026, and stipulates a timetable for the implementation of the digital ruble in payment systems. According to the bill, merchants with annual revenue exceeding 120.00 million rubles must support digital ruble payments before September 1, 2026; merchants with annual revenue exceeding 30.00 million rubles must support it before September 1, 2027; and the remaining merchants must complete access before September 1, 2028.
