On July 17, Cointelegraph reported that Paul Chowles, a former operations officer at the UK National Crime Agency (NCA), has been jailed for stealing 50 Bitcoin (currently worth approximately $5.900 million) during the Silk Road 2.0 investigation, according to the UK Crown Prosecution Service. The NCA seized 97 Bitcoin from Thomas White, the founder, when he was arrested in November 2014, but 50 of those Bitcoin (then worth approximately $79,000) were transferred from his wallet to another address in May 2017. "We found several notebooks in Paul Chowles' office containing usernames, passwords and transaction records related to Thomas White's cryptocurrency accounts." [TechFlow]
