🇹🇭 Thailand Launches "Nationwide" Cryptocurrency Tourism Sandbox Program 🏖️

According to the Bangkok Post, the Thai SEC and the Bank of Thailand have jointly launched a "nationwide" (no longer limited to Phuket) cryptocurrency sandbox program that allows foreign tourists to convert digital assets into Thai Baht for tourism spending.

According to the regulations, tourists can only exchange currency through licensed digital asset operators and must spend through regulated electronic payment platforms. Direct use of digital assets for payment is not allowed.
