Cryptocurrency advocate Roger Ver (known as "Bitcoin Jesus") has sued the Spanish government in the European Court of Human Rights in an attempt to prevent his extradition to the United States to stand trial on tax evasion charges. Ver claims that Spain violated his legal rights when ruling that he should be extradited to Los Angeles for trial. U.S. prosecutors accuse him of evading more than $48.00 million in taxes on proceeds from the sale of $240.0 million in crypto assets. He was arrested in Mallorca, Spain, and later released on bail.
