U.S. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board chair resigns at SEC chair's request

Erica Williams, Chair of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), has resigned after Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins requested her resignation. According to an email Williams sent to PCAOB staff, her last day of work will be July 22. Williams began serving as PCAOB Chair in January 2022 and was reappointed in June 2024.
