This morning, after a call with the President of Indonesia, I finalized a significant agreement with the country. As part of the agreement, Indonesia has committed to purchasing $15.0 billion worth of U.S. energy products, $4.5 billion in agricultural products, and 50 Boeing passenger aircraft, many of which are 777 models. For the first time in history, our ranchers, farmers, and fishermen will have full access to the Indonesian market. In addition, Indonesia will pay a 19% tariff on all goods exported to the United States, while U.S. exports to Indonesia will be exempt from all tariffs and non-tariff barriers. If the goods are transshipped from a high-tariff country, the tariff corresponding to that country of origin will be added to the tariff paid by Indonesia. [Odaily Planet Daily News]
