White House Advisor: The Fed's Answer on Headquarters Renovation Is Key to Whether Trump Fires Powell

White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett said on Sunday that U.S. President Donald Trump has the right to fire Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell if there is evidence to support it, adding that the Fed is "very responsible" for cost overruns in the renovation of its Washington headquarters.
