OpenAI's $3 billion acquisition of Windsurf fails, the latter turns to Google

According to sources, Google has reached a licensing agreement with programming startup Windsurf, which will overturn OpenAI's proposed $3 billion acquisition of the startup after the exclusive term of the agreement expires.
Sources said the deal with Google means Windsurf will continue to operate as an independent startup.
