Russian engineer and founder of the crypto exchange Bitzlato, Anatoly Legkodymov, has formally submitted a request for pardon to U.S. President Trump. The request comes as France has filed an extradition request, and if extradited, Legkodymov could face a maximum of 20 years in prison. Legkodymov was arrested in the United States in 2023 for alleged illegal cryptocurrency transactions and was eventually sentenced to 18 months in prison, which he has already served during pre-trial detention.
