A crypto attacker was resentenced to 12 years in prison for failing to pay $20.00 million in damages.

According to Decrypt, a New York federal judge has resentenced Nicholas Truglia to 12 years in prison for stealing cryptocurrency using SIM swap attacks. Nicholas Truglia was previously released in 2022 after being sentenced to 18 months in prison, but subsequently failed to pay the $20.000.000 in damages from the 2018 attack. Prosecutors stated that his initial sentencing hearing revealed assets exceeding $53.000.000.
