ethPandaOps published an article discussing Ethereum's strategy to achieve L1 scaling by increasing the Gas limit (from 36M to 45M, with future targets of 60M and 100M). The Pectra upgrade has increased Blob capacity from 3/6 to 6/9, and the Fusaka upgrade will improve Blob throughput through PeerDAS. Scaling needs to address issues such as execution performance, network propagation, state growth, RPC performance, and consensus layer impact. Current tests with a 45M Gas Limit show no obstacles, with block processing times <3 seconds and 99.5% node propagation <4 seconds. Validators are recommended to adjust their adoption and update their client versions. According to gaslimit.pics data, the validator on-chain preference voting (Signaling) for the current 45M Gas Limit is already close to 29%. [Wu Shuo]
