A BitMEX Research report states that a hacker sent a phishing transaction with an OP_RETURN field to the 1Feex address holding 80,000 stolen Mt. Gox $BTC (currently valued at approximately $8.7 billion), attempting to trick the address owner into visiting a phishing website disguised as the defunct investment bank Saloman Brothers and submitting personal information, in an attempt to fabricate a claim that the address is "unclaimed." As of now, the target address (1Feex...) has no response or record of funds movement. The $BTC held by this address was obtained from the 2011 Mt. Gox hack, and the suspected attacker has recently attempted to send similar misleading information to other early high-balance addresses. [Decrypt]
