Vitalik co-initiated EIP-7983 proposal to enhance network's resistance to DoS attacks

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Toni Wahrstätter have jointly proposed EIP-7983, suggesting setting the gas limit for a single Ethereum transaction to 16.77 million (independent of the block gas limit). This aims to enhance the network's resistance to DoS attacks, alleviate uneven loads caused by high gas transactions, state bloat, and block verification delays, while also optimizing zkVM compatibility and parallel execution efficiency.
