Ondo Finance to acquire US-regulated broker Oasis Pro for tokenized securities expansion

$Ondo Finance, a DeFi protocol focused on real-world asset products, has agreed to acquire Oasis Pro in a deal that grants the startup a full suite of U.S. securities licenses and clears a path to serve American investors with tokenized stocks and bonds.

The purchase price was not disclosed, and the transaction still needs regulatory sign-off.

Oasis Pro operates an SEC-registered broker-dealer, known as an Alternative Trading System (ATS), and a Transfer Agent (TA). Founded in 2019, the U.S. firm became one of the first to secure approval to list and settle digital securities in either fiat or stablecoins such as Circle's $USDC and Sky's DAI.

"This unlocks the next major chapter of tokenized finance," $Ondo Finance CEO Nathan Allman said in Friday's release.

The firm’s licenses complement $Ondo’s existing tokenization stack, which manages more than $1.4 billion in assets and offers non-U.S. investors products such as tokenized Treasurys (OUSG) and yield-bearing USDY tokens. $Ondo plans to launch blockchain-based U.S. equities for overseas clients in the coming months through its Global Markets platform amid a broader tokenization boom. It also recently enabled OUSG minting and redemptions on the XRP Ledger.

A bevy of service providers — like Robinhood, Kraken, Gemini, and Bybit — have announced products that offer exposure to real share prices using decentralized technology. The moves reflect a growing demand for RWAs on blockchains, which already boast over $12 billion in total value locked according to DefiLlama data. A joint report from Ripple and Boston Consulting Group projects that the tokenized asset market could exceed $18 trillion by 2033.
