SingularityNET

Our COO, @JanetAdamsAI, took the stage at "The Big Interview" event by WIRED at Bocconi University in Milan to examine how human-level AGI can solve some of our most pressing problems and address the critical question of ensuring advanced AI systems benefit humanity and other sentient beings.

Janet stated that the answer lies in "values we can impart to technologies," declaring, "it will be beautiful, because it will be built on beautiful values. Our AGI is based on ethics and everything good in the world."

The discussion challenged centralized AI development approaches and the concentration of economic and political power in the hands of Big Tech, with Janet highlighting that the enjoyment of the benefits of transformative technologies by all members of society stands at the very heart of our mission.

She spoke about how Big Tech makes AI tools for the top 1% of the population" while SingularityNET develops "the most advanced open-source AGI AI tools and makes them freely open source so that the 99% can uplift themselves socially and in their careers and their safety." Janet traced this philosophy to Dr. Ben Goertzel's foundational vision of "AI that is as smart as or smarter than humans but dedicated at its root, at its core motivation, dedicated to being benevolent and being beneficial to humanity."

Joining Janet on stage was Desdemona, a humanoid robot and the lead vocalist of Desdemona's Dream band, who performed music and poetry to illustrate practical applications of beneficial AI. Janet noted that "50% of people in front of Desdemona are afraid. They're terrified of AI," positioning the robot as addressing these fears by helping "humans understand that there's beauty in artificial intelligence. That it can be open, transparent, creative and gentle."

Janet outlined the technical infrastructure supporting this vision through the @ASI_Alliance, which combines the decentralized AI networks and technological stacks of SingularityNET, Ocean Protocol, Fetch․ai, and CUDOS to form the world’s largest open-source initiative dedicated to decentralized AGI.

She highlighted that @CUDOS_ provides "the largest open decentralized compute network in the world," delivering "AI compute up to 70% cheaper than the hyperscalers." The Alliance also features "More than 2 million AI agents which can interact with each other on blockchain," with available tooling for creating, testing, and deploying customizable autonomous Agents.

Addressing ethical development imperatives, Janet declared that "the single most important imperative of our time is ensuring that these technologies are built for the benefit of humanity. Not for profit, not for greed, not for power, but with heart-led loving values." She challenged conventional assumptions about human decision-making, stating "humans often don't make right choices for other humans. So why not let machines, which we teach ethical values, replicate better choices? If we give them beauty, they'll replicate beauty."
