RIPPLE PARTNERS WITH WORMHOLE TO BRING MULTICHAIN INTEROPERABILITY TO THE XRPL

- @Ripple has officially partnered with @Wormhole, a leading cross-chain interoperability protocol, to expand the $XRP Ledger’s (XRPL) multichain capabilities and further strengthen its role in institutional on-chain finance.

– The integration brings cross-chain messaging and asset transfer functionality to both the XRPL mainnet and the XRPL EVM Sidechain, signaling a major milestone in Ripple’s effort to provide regulated and interoperable infrastructure for digital finance.

Key Details:

- With this partnership, XRPL-native assets like $XRP, IOUs, and Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs) will be transferable across 35+ supported blockchains.

- This unlocks powerful use cases for DeFi, payments, tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), and more.

- Wormhole, which supports over 200 applications and has facilitated over 1 billion cross-chain messages and $60 billion in cross-chain volume since 2020, is trusted by major institutions including BlackRock, Apollo, and Securitize.

- “By integrating Wormhole into the $XRP Ledger, we’re helping unlock even greater potential spanning all major blockchains for one of the most established blockchain networks in enterprise finance,” said Robinson Burkey, Co-Founder of Wormhole Foundation.

- Ripple’s CTO David Schwartz emphasized the significance of the move, stating, “If you want real mass adoption, interoperability is essential. The infrastructure has to be there… With this integration, tokens natively issued on the $XRP Ledger are being set up for that reality.”
