The Cardano "Liquid Democracy" workshop series in Japan, held across 4 cities, successfully concluded, providing insights into some of the challenges facing the local community, plans to address them, and more on driving Cardano's growth.

- Several participants have struggled to delegate to a DRep due to technical and language barriers.
- Limited access to reliable, multilingual information.
- Many participants do not utilize social media platforms.
- Hard to find active DReps that truly represent their views.

- Creating sustainable demand for Cardano through real use cases.

📢 We have successfully completed the #Cardano "Liquid Democracy" workshop series in Japan (Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Tokyo, and Osaka). By engaging directly with long-term ADA holders and supporters, we have clarified the issues that need to be improved throughout the entire #Cardano community.

This workshop revealed that "many participants do not accurately understand governance and tend to delegate their voting rights to the stake pool operators they delegate to, and about half of the participants have not yet delegated their voting rights to a delegation representative." Although the sample size is about 100 people, the results indicate a trend in Japan, where a large amount of ADA is concentrated.

The main factors behind this are:
👉 Not all holders use social media and do not have access to opportunities to get involved in governance.
👉 It is difficult to obtain accurate information from the many governance-related sources, and there is a demand for a mechanism that makes it easier to find delegation representatives who will reflect their intentions.
👉 Because delegation representative information is provided in English, the language barrier is a hurdle for Japanese holders in choosing an appropriate delegation representative.

Due to these factors, many find it difficult to find a delegation representative to represent their voice, which results in them not delegating or abstaining.

📌 Future measures:
1) Increase opportunities for delegation representatives to meet holders offline at meetups and other events.
2) Enhance the user experience of the infrastructure that serves as the entry point for voting for holders, including wallets.
3) Promote multilingual support for services that provide governance information to reflect the intentions of more holders on the Cardano blockchain.

In addition, many holders are highly interested in simply "increasing the value of ADA," and questions were also raised about "mechanisms to increase the value of ADA." The Layer 1 business is "selling block space," and in order to increase the value of its base token, it is important to create actual use cases and effectively fill the block space with transactions.

Considering the interests of these holders, delegation from Japanese holders may be concentrated on delegation representatives who advocate for the creation of use cases, increased transactions, and, by extension, business creation.

The discussion to encourage direct dialogue with delegation representatives was a major step towards sharing issues and finding solutions. We would like to expand this type of dialogue not only in Japan but also globally. In the future, we hope that creating opportunities for delegation representatives active overseas to meet with Japanese holders will encourage delegation to appropriate delegation representatives.
