Aptos Labs and Jump Crypto Announce Shelby: A Decentralized Hot Storage Network Built for Real-Time Web3 Applications
Against the backdrop of continuously evolving infrastructure, @AptosLabs and Jump Crypto have jointly launched Shelby, a new high-performance storage solution, officially entering the field of real-time data processing in the crypto space.
Shelby is not just a decentralized storage network, but a "hot storage system" designed for scenarios such as AI training, gaming, video streaming, and the DePIN ecosystem. Its goal is to replace the performance bottlenecks of traditional cloud computing in terms of latency and frequency. Shelby features sub-second transfer speeds, a pay-as-you-go model, and a globally efficient node architecture. The core infrastructure combines fiber optic backbone networks and programmable on-chain logic, initially supporting #Aptos, #Ethereum, and #Solana.
Currently, projects such as Story Protocol and Metaplex have confirmed that they will be among the first to integrate this infrastructure to verify its cross-chain and low-latency characteristics. The developer testnet is expected to officially launch in the fourth quarter of 2025, and the on-chain performance and resource scheduling capabilities of Shelby will be key areas of observation in the future.
