🚨BitJungle: Crypto Information Websites Under Repeated Hacker Attacks; CoinMarketCap and Cointelegraph Frontends Implanted with Malicious Pop-ups
On June 23rd, following CoinMarketCap, the Cointelegraph official website frontend was also attacked by hackers, with users encountering a pop-up window with "airdrop" content that could not be closed when visiting the site. Binance founder CZ also issued a warning, stating that hackers are focusing on attacking crypto information websites, inducing users to authorize wallets to carry out theft. According to preliminary on-chain analysis, the CoinMarketCap incident has already caused 39 victims to lose $18,570.
⚠️The BitJungle security team reminds you that these types of attacks are usually disguised as "wallet verification" or "airdrop claim" pop-up windows, inducing users to sign malicious transaction authorizations. If you have recently visited relevant websites and connected your wallet, you should immediately check your authorization records and revoke suspicious permissions. Currently, the Cointelegraph team has intervened to handle the situation, but has not yet disclosed the details of the attack or the scope of the impact.
If you also encounter similar pop-ups or hold Cryptocurrency, please suspend connecting your wallet and check your security protocols. It is recommended to prioritize accessing through the official App and avoid clicking on suspicious links.
