According to ChainCatcher, citing Bitcoin.com, Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley stated that Bitcoin's primary competitors in the safe-haven asset space are not gold but U.S. Treasury bonds and other government securities.
He believes that although gold has lower volatility and Bitcoin higher volatility, both attract investors seeking alternatives to traditional fiat currency assets.
Additionally, Horsley pointed out that by 2025, "regulatory uncertainty" is no longer the main barrier to Bitcoin investment; the current bottlenecks lie in investors' time allocation and perception of Bitcoin's value.
He also mentioned that investors such as family offices show limited interest in "digital gold" assets, and such issues may become more prominent in the coming quarters.
