Polygon co-founder Jordi Baylina announced that he and his core zkEVM team have officially become independent, launching a new project named Zisk.

The project was incubated within Polygon Labs since May 2024 and completed its independent split on June 13.

Baylina retains his position as a Polygon co-founder and serves as a consultant.

Last week, the other co-founder Sandeep Nailwal announced that he will gradually phase out the zkEVM chain after taking over as the Foundation's CEO, focusing resources on developing Polygon PoS and AggLayer cross-chain aggregation protocol.
