Foresight News reports that research institution Flashbots has released a report stating that MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) has become the main limiting factor for blockchain scalability. The report points out that garbage transactions generated by MEV bots are consuming block space at a rate exceeding network scaling, causing breakthroughs in raw throughput technology to become ineffective.
The study found that garbage bots consume over 50% of the gas fees on mainstream OP-Stack Rollups while paying less than 10% of the transaction fees, driving up the base transaction costs for ordinary users.
