ChainCatcher reported that, according to Protos, Jason Hughes, Vice President of the mining pool $OCEAN, announced that he will sell all his Bitcoin holdings and exit the industry in protest against the recent decision to change OP_RETURN. Hughes expressed extreme disappointment with the Bitcoin Core developers' decision, stating, "52 days ago, Bitcoin Core development at least pretended to have principles," and said he has "exhausted his energy in this struggle." Hughes warned, "The qualities that made Bitcoin unique are no longer present." Previously, it was reported that the Bitcoin Core development team announced that in the upcoming Core 30 version to be released in October, the default setting for OP_RETURN will be modified, increasing the data carrier limit from 80 bytes to nearly 4 million bytes (4 MB).
