On the day of Circle's initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange, ARK Invest invested 373.40 million USD to purchase approximately 4.49 million shares of Circle stock. Circle's stock opened at 69 USD on the first day of trading, reached a high of over 96 USD, nearly doubling in price, and ultimately closed at 83.23 USD, up 168.5% from the IPO price of 31 USD. This investment led ARK Invest to include Circle in its cryptocurrency-related investment portfolio, alongside companies such as Coinbase, Robinhood, and Block. Circle's IPO went through multiple attempts and market challenges before successfully listing, marking a significant milestone in its transformation towards an internet financial system. CEO Jeremy Allaire expressed gratitude for community support and believes the listing is significant for the integration of the global economic system and the internet. Other crypto companies like Kraken and Animoca Brands are also monitoring Circle's IPO progress and are planning their own public offerings.
