South Korea's new president, Lee Jae-myung, has appointed Kim Yong-beom, former CEO of Hashed Research, as the Chief of the Presidential Office's Policy Office. This minister-level position is responsible for coordinating national policy directions. Kim Yong-beom previously served as the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance under the Moon Jae-in administration. Hashed CEO Simon Kim stated that this move demonstrates the Lee Jae-myung government's friendly stance towards cryptocurrencies and plans to promote a won-denominated stablecoin to prevent national wealth outflow. Simon also revealed that South Korean regulators are closely monitoring the cryptocurrency policies in the United States and intend to reference its regulatory approach. (CoinDesk)
