The U.S. deficit is being warned as a "time bomb," Citadel executive says careful management is needed
According to Bloomberg, Citadel Securities President Jim Esposito warned at the Piper Sandler conference that the U.S.'s continuously expanding fiscal deficit and government debt levels are a "time bomb" that must be handled carefully.
He emphasized that how the Trump administration handles this issue is crucial. Although Esposito stated that he does not predict a situation similar to the UK's 2022 debt market crisis, he pointed out that the current debt size is approaching the sustainable upper limit.
Furthermore, he stated that as regulatory frameworks gradually become clearer, crypto assets have become an asset category of interest to institutional investors.
