On May 24-25, 2025, @gelisimedu hosted the inaugural Minima Community Hackathon.
This two-day event brought together 7 teams (between 3-5 members per team) of computer science students, including a team from Iran, for a day of workshops and nearly 10 hours of coding.
The event highlighted the power of the MiniDapp system - possibly the most brilliantly simple dev system in blockchain today, which enabled students to create remarkable MiniDapps despite having only one day of workshops.
Auditorium presentations by the teams showcased exceptional submissions:
🔹First-place winners, Link2Me, built a P2P friend/dating app on Minima’s blockchain, using on-chain fees for serverless interactions.
🔹Mini-Tetris, second place, featured on-chain high scores with plans for a prize pool.
🔹Third-place, Notely, offered a decentralized journalism platform, delivering articles via Maxima for on-chain payments.
This hackathon is the first of many we plan, getting larger as we go - make sure to keep across future hackathon updates to find out how you can participate!
