Sonic announces a first-quarter airdrop plan, totaling 190.50 million S tokens, with 25% available for claim in the first batch.

According to ChainCatcher, official news states that in the first quarter, Sonic ($S) will airdrop a total of 190.50 million $S tokens to users to incentivize participation from users and developers in its ecosystem. The airdrop will also reward participants of Opera'$s historical events, Sonic Arcade users, and Shard NFT minters.

The first batch of the airdrop will be available for claim six months after Sonic'$s launch (around June 2025). Users can immediately claim 25% of the allocation, while the remaining 75% will be linearly released as NFTs over a period of 270 days. If users choose to claim the locked portion early, they must pay a certain percentage of tokens as a burn penalty, with the burn rate decreasing over time.
