A U.S. judge overturned the fraud conviction against Avraham Eisenberg, citing that the New York prosecutor did not have a proper venue for the trial. Eisenberg was convicted of manipulation using the DeFi trading platform Mango Markets, but the judge ruled that he operated in Puerto Rico and had no direct connection to New York. As a result, two fraud charges were dismissed, and he was acquitted of a third telecommunications fraud charge. The judge noted that Eisenberg's actions did not constitute telecommunications fraud given the platform's unclear rules. Nevertheless, Eisenberg still faces four years of imprisonment for possession of child sexual abuse material. Mango Markets ceased operations earlier this year.
