Elon Musk says he will significantly reduce campaign donations in the future

According to TechFlow, on May 20, Global Market Report reported that Elon Musk stated on Tuesday that he plans to significantly reduce political donations in the future. Musk had spent over 250 million USD to help Trump win a second term. However, when asked at the Qatar Economic Forum whether he would maintain the same level of donations in future elections, Musk denied it. "I think political donations will be significantly reduced in the future," he said.

When asked about the reason, he simply responded: "I feel I have done enough." The world's richest man also left room for flexibility in his attitude change. He said, "If it becomes necessary to make political donations in the future, I will still act. But currently, I see no reason." This statement may disappoint Republicans seeking re-election in 2026. Besides donations supporting Trump, Musk also invested over 19 million USD in the final stages of the 2024 election to help the Republicans win a narrow majority in Congress.
