FWIW - we introduced all these concepts and created a framework for it ~7 years ago: The Gnosis conditional token framework (CTF).

Polymarket actually uses these contracts - so it is relatively easy to take the outcome tokens of e.g. Polymarket and create more complex markets.

@CoWSwap (orignially "Gnosis protocol") was initially build to trade all those "conditional tokens". (and solvers would do the merging/splitting as part of settlements)
