The Web3 attention economy is brewing a breakout experiment targeting "hundreds of millions of users."

The new project T‑Rex @TREX_chain has announced the completion of a $17.00 million Pre-Seed funding round, backed by well-known institutions such as Framework Ventures and Arbitrum Gaming Ventures.

Its goal is clear: to "steal" users from platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and X into Web3 using seamless on-chain integration and crypto rewards.

T‑Rex, primarily developed by EVG, is essentially an "attention engine" for ordinary consumers. It records user actions such as likes, views, and shares through a browser plugin, and uses a "PoE (Proof-of-Engagement)" mechanism to provide on-chain verification and reward tokens.

Technically, it is built on Arbitrum Orbit's Nitro engine, combined with zkTLS to achieve low latency and privacy protection. Users don't need a wallet or any understanding of blockchain; they simply operate as they normally do online, and incentives are automatically credited.

T‑Rex is trying to solve the "Web3 cold start problem": Why have past on-chain applications always fallen into "digital ghost towns"? Why do users and content creators always quickly leave after airdrops? The answer T‑Rex provides is: "Return to familiar Web2 usage scenarios and complete the incentive loop in the background."

The project plans to officially launch the plugin this summer, along with an $8.00 million ecosystem fund to support developer integration. Its target ecosystem covers mainstream content platforms such as social media, games, and e-commerce.

In the Web3 attention economy space, Brave is the earliest practitioner. With the BAT token, Brave allows users to choose to watch ads and receive revenue sharing, and currently has 87.00 million monthly active users. Unlike Brave, which focuses on advertising scenarios, T‑Rex seeks to expand to almost all types of content interaction, covering a wider range and a deeper incentive mechanism.

From Brave's user growth path, the "get rewarded for watching content" model has real feasibility. If T‑Rex successfully lowers the barrier to entry and activates high-frequency interactions, it is likely to create a Web3 version of the "Jinri Toutiao + Douyin" combination, bringing a truly decentralized version to the attention economy.
