The aim is to suspend the implementation of the relevant tariff policy during the court's hearing of the California vs. federal government tariff case.

The California Governor's Office stated on the same day that this application is part of the California vs. federal government tariff case. California Attorney General Bonta, responsible for litigation matters, stated that given the current chaotic tariff war has brought threats such as "soaring household living costs, declining wages, and reduced employment opportunities," and caused severe uncertainty in business operations, California will suffer significant losses. Therefore, it has applied for the court to issue a preliminary injunction concurrently with the litigation.
