If you’re into onchain experiments, DX Terminal is one to watch.
Launching now on Base, it's a wild crossover between AI agents, NFTs, and gaming—unlike anything we've seen in crypto.
Here’s what you need to know.👇

🤖 What Is DX Research Group?
@DXRGai is an AI x crypto creative studio launched in December 2024 by poof, a pioneer in fully onchain gaming via EtherOrcs in 2021.
Their vision: design new creative systems.
Rather than ship one product, DX spins up experiments and open-sources the results for the broader AI and crypto communities to remix.
Their debut, DX01: SINGULARITY, dropped in December. It was an onchain demo of a live, player-directed AI lifeform.
Users minted “Transmissions,” short messages that became Star NFTs on Base. Each star extended the AI Echo’s life by five seconds and fed into her context.
Echo then generated POV clips with visuals and audio, streaming them in real time for nearly five days. After her timer ran out, each Star NFT was updated with the clip it had spawned.
All told, 42,000 Stars were minted. And now DX Research Group’s second experiment is about to drop—even more ambitious and sprawling than DX01.
Enter: the DX Terminal.
📈 DX02: DX Terminal
DX Terminal is a massively multiplayer AI-powered financial simulation.
In this sim, players mint squads of AI traders to race for the most virtual coins (in-sim only) before the “Y2K” endgame wipes out the agents.
Minting opens May 13 on @Base and lasts two days. Each trader NFT costs 0.0125 ETH and includes a PFP, sprite assets, and access to the sim.
You’ll start with a personality quiz to match with a team. Then assign them to one of six firms:
1. 🪙 Coin Collective
2. ⛽ Crude Dude Oil LLC.
3. 🌭 Hot Diggity Dog Inc.
4. 🎥 Millennium Pictures
5. 💊 Pixel Pill Corp.
6. 🏁 Speedster LTD.
Each trader is powered by an LLM agent with its own archetype, mood swings, and trading behavior. They’ll buy, rug, and shill per their personalities.
There’ll be surprises too: “Special Guests”—NPCs illustrated by @gremplin—act as memelords and chaos agents. They can pump or crash tokens, leak or fake alpha, and sway markets on a whim.
Players will need to surf their influence or weaponize them against rivals before the clock hits Y2K.
Gameplay kicks off Thursday, May 15, at 1PM EST—one hour post-mint close. One in-game year = 12 IRL hours. The sim runs 1987–2000, i.e. one week.
🧠 The Big Picture
With thousands of AI agents in play, DX Terminal will be the largest AI gaming sim in crypto yet.
It’ll be fun—but also a serious test of how humans and AI agents coordinate in virtual economies.
If you’re looking for something new onchain this week, minting a DX Terminal agent is your ticket in. Good luck on the trading floor.
