1confirmation founder Nick Tomaino stated on X that those who say ETH can never replace BTC lack self-awareness.

Today, it is Ethereum that is realizing the vision of Satoshi Nakamoto and the cypherpunk pioneers: empowering billions of people through decentralized products. Stablecoins, decentralized exchanges, decentralized lending, NFTs, prediction markets, and decentralized social networks are all critical to achieving this goal. Furthermore, ETH is also a scarce and credibly neutral store of value, and as billions of people use new use cases, Ethereum has the potential to achieve broader distribution.

Of course, BTC, as a scarce, credibly neutral, and internet-native store of value, is excellent for the world and is one of the most influential products to date.

If you say ETH can’t flip BTC with certainty you either don’t know ball or lack self awareness.

It’s unlikely. BTC is still the best risk adjusted asset to own. But it’s possible and deep down all the BTC and company coin maxis who get triggered whenever the possibility is mentioned know this.

BTC is great as a scarce, credibly neutral, internet native store of value for the world. It’s the most impactful product we have so far.

But Ethereum is now delivering on the vision that Satoshi, Hal and the cypherpunk pioneers had for billions of people to be empowered by decentralized products. Stablecoins, DEXs, decentralized lending, NFTs, prediction markets and decentralized social networks are all critical to that. And ETH is also a scarce, credibly neutral store of value that has the potential for far greater distribution as new use cases onboard billions.
