The UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has appointed David Geale as the Executive Director of the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR), while also serving as the Head of the Payments and Digital Finance Division. Geale has acted as the interim Director of PSR since June 2024 and possesses over 20 years of experience at the FCA and its predecessor, the Financial Services Authority (FSA). He previously served as the Director of Retail Banking, leading multiple policy reforms including the Retail Distribution Review during the Brexit period. Recently, he has been responsible for developing the regulatory framework for crypto assets, savings rate policies, and mortgage market reform plans.
