Farside Investors: The technical disadvantages of Bitcoin Core removing the OP_Return limitation are minimal

Foresight News reports that Farside Investors released an analysis regarding the recent removal of the OP_Return output size policy limit in the Bitcoin Core software repository. They stated that people are already using the blockchain extensively to handle images, and maintaining the OP_Return limit would not change this. They believe that "the technical drawbacks of removing the OP_Return limit are minimal, and there are some benefits. We also consider this to be a minor software change. Therefore, we support removing the limit and do not believe that its removal should be viewed as particularly controversial."
