Avraham "Avi" Eisenberg, accused of exploiting Mango Markets for $110 million through commodities fraud and manipulation, was sentenced to just over four years for possessing child sexual abuse material. He was convicted in April 2024 for the exploit involving artificially pumping the MANGO token price and creating a bad debt position. Prosecutors found 1,274 images and videos of child sexual abuse material on his devices, downloaded between 2017 and 2022. Eisenberg returned $67 million to Mango Markets and was allowed to keep $47 million by community vote. He previously argued his actions were legal group-trading strategies. Prosecutors sought an 8-year sentence citing the severity of his crimes.
