Sonic Labs announced that starting May 6, Sonic will suspend bridging USDC.e to upgrade to native USDC and integrate CCTP V2. The upgrade process will take about a week. After the upgrade, USDC.e will automatically convert to native USDC without user intervention. The upgrade will enable faster and safer cross-chain transfers and connect to multiple chains including Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, and Linea. The original USDC contract address remains unchanged, with only the name updated to USDC.
