According to a report from Deep Tide TechFlow, on April 18, the Oregon Attorney General filed a securities enforcement lawsuit against the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, using a regulatory theory that the SEC has officially abandoned. Coinbase's Chief Legal Officer, Paul Grewal, stated that this move is "unfounded" and "undermines the constructive policymaking currently underway in Washington, D.C." As Congress pushes for comprehensive federal legislation on digital assets, Coinbase has committed to maintaining normal operations in Oregon and stated that it is "prepared to respond to this lawsuit," vowing to "never stop standing up for our customers and the industry."
