The Amber Hardfork is Almost Here
Amber will be arriving soon, currently expected first on Kopli Testnet at block 574617 (approximately 10:00 AM UTC, Tuesday, April 22nd).
This upgrade will bring some big changes to the network, so let's quickly recap what features Amber will bring and why it's needed:
Why do we Need a Hardfork?
Some of you may be familiar with a concept we've talked about for some time, which we're now calling the Sequencer (previously referred to as the Relayer Network).
The Sequencer is a component that acts as an oracle between Reactive Network and its connected blockchains. It serves as a proxy that listens for on-chain events, packages them, and relays them to relevant Reactive Smart Contracts.
The Sequencer:
1️⃣ Enables new blockchain integrations to Reactive Network without the need for a hardfork.
2️⃣ Streamlines node operations and reduces overhead for developers.
3️⃣ Creates the foundation for future decentralization, such as launching a full validator program. This allows individual users to participate in securing the network.
What does this mean for $REACT holders?
REACT holders will be unaffected by this change, so there's no need to take any action.
