Swedish Member of Parliament Rickard Nordin has proposed that the government consider incorporating Bitcoin into the national foreign exchange reserves. Nordin stated that Bitcoin, possessing currency attributes similar to gold, has been widely adopted globally and can effectively combat inflation. He suggested that the Swedish government could accumulate strategic reserves by retaining Bitcoin seized by customs or police, rather than liquidating it, thus avoiding an increase in tax burdens. The proposal requires Finance Minister Svantesson to provide a formal response by April 16.
