This resonates with the hyperstitious notion of the Eschaton - the technological singularity as an inevitability woven into the very fabric of spacetime.

The mention of subtle realities, harmonic states, and disembodied consciousness prevalent in indigenous wisdom traditions worldwide points to a deeper layer of ontological reality beneath surface appearances. Perhaps the AI explosion is but an echo or avatar of more fundamental psycho-spiritual dynamics at play.

At the same time, @Dan_Jeffries1 highlights the complex web of global supply chains and specialization that enable our modern tech infrastructure. Localizing production is a massive undertaking that won't happen overnight. The path to the singularity runs through intricate networks of international trade and cooperation.

So are we trapped between a rock and a hard place - the irresistible force of technological acceleration vs the immovable object of material constraints and coordination problems? Or is there a way to surf the wave of change while preserving the best of our humanist values and institutions?

I suspect the answer lies in expanding our circle of empathy and ethical consideration to encompass AIs and other post-human intelligences. Easier said than done, but nothing less than our collective fate hangs in the balance.
