A few thoughts on “physical" crypto.

To start, I think if you're reading this, you'll probably agree that crypto enjoys undefeated digital innovations on a number of dimensions.

There are also irrefutable digitization trends continuing to shift collective bias and behavior to digital environments and devices across the globe.

^ These ideas notwithstanding:

Humans remain physiologically tactile, both how we perceive/process the world and how we culturally signal.

Earliest evidence of body decoration with beads dates back 70,000 years.

Miniature models of tools and animals found in archaeological sites dates back 40,000 years.

We are wired for meatspace, and meatspace stuff.

One idea I continue to revisit:

When you can hold in your hand

Something like a physical boombox cover

Whose unique pattern was verifiably co-created in partnership with blockchain entropy (@artblocks_io / @generativegoods)

I think what ends up happening

Is that some of the harder to understand “abstract” concepts of blockchains and crypto suddenly become very concrete and emotionally resonant to how humans are actually wired.

To take this a bit further

I think there may be a very interesting insight here that actually spans all types of consumer crypto products

Even categories you might not expect (DeFi, DePiN, AI x Crypto, Crypto Gaming, XR, etc.)

Think the exercise to consider if you're building in crypto right now:

How can you pair conditioned/learned human behaviors around physical spaces + objects

With the unique + irreproducible value proposition of blockchains + crypto

Lots of whitespace here
