Forbes Billionaires List: First Time Surpassing 3,000 People, with 16 Crypto Figures Including CZ and Tether CFO on the List
Forbes has released its 39th annual World's Billionaires List, with the number of billionaires worldwide exceeding 3,000 for the first time, reaching 3,028, with a total wealth of $16.1T. Among them, 16 billionaires from the cryptocurrency space made the list, with a total wealth exceeding $164B and an average net worth of $6.8B.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) tops the list as the world's wealthiest cryptocurrency billionaire with $63B, followed by Tether's CFO Giancarlo Devasini with $22.4B. JL van der Velde, Paolo Ardoino, and Stuart Hoegner, also associated with Tether, are also on the list.
Founders of cryptocurrency exchanges hold significant positions, including Coinbase co-founders Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam, Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, and Tron founder Justin Sun.
Other individuals on the list include Ripple's Chris Larsen, Stellar's Jed McCaleb, investor Tim Draper, and Microstrategy founder Michael Saylor. Saylor's company holds 528,185 Bitcoin, and he personally holds 17,732 Bitcoin, significantly boosting his wealth ranking due to his crypto assets.
