It's really unnecessary; personnel movement might better promote technological development by leveraging each other's strengths.

Ethereum developer Max Resnick has jumped to Solana: Solana is a financially strong paper tiger, making it very suitable for Resnick.

Ethereum developer Ryan Berckmans made a sarcastic comment about Resnick's move, saying, "I’m glad to see Max Resnick leave the Ethereum scaling core development community. Resnick and other critics often claim that Ethereum needs to become more like Solana. But in reality, Ethereum has already reached its peak through its L2 scaling strategy—there's no need to change the approach. Solana will attempt to acquire what Ethereum already possesses, including client diversity, true protocol standards, a research community, and more on-chain capital. What is actually happening now is that Solana is taking significant steps to try to become more like Ethereum. Resnick is now part of Solana's efforts to become more like Ethereum, which is ironic considering he has always said Ethereum must become more like Solana. However, no amount of funding can buy them decentralization. In short, Solana is essentially a financially strong paper tiger. It’s no surprise that this fits Resnick very well."

Since February 2023, Resnick has served as the head of research at Consensys subsidiary Special Mechanisms Group, where he has been critical of Ethereum's scaling strategy. Meanwhile, Anza is the software company behind the Solana Agave client, aimed at improving network resilience and uptime. Resnick stated that he will continue to collaborate with the Consensys team as a research advisor while focusing on his new role. Resnick said, "I am bringing my talents to Solana, planning to draft specifications for the Solana protocol as much as possible in the initial 100 days, prioritizing fee markets and consensus implementations that can have the greatest impact."
