CIRCLE'S $USDC AND EURC BECOME FIRST STABLECOINS APPROVED BY DUBAI INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL CENTRE

- The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) officially approved @Circle Internet Group’s $USDC and $EURC as crypto tokens accepted in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Key Details:

- It’s the first time a stablecoin has received approval under the DIFC’s crypto token framework, validating stablecoins as globally regulated digital assets.

- This approval means that $USDC and EURC can be integrated into digital asset services, payments, and treasury management by financial institutions and fintech firms operating in the DIFC.

- The DIFC hosts over 6,000 firms and provides a legally secure environment for digital assets.

- Circle’s approval follows existing regulatory compliance within the European Union (under MiCA regulations) and Canada’s new rules on listing stablecoins, making it a global leader in regulated digital currencies.

- The protocol has established a local entity in the UAE, underlining its interest in the growing fintech ecosystem in the region.

- Circle’s Chief Strategy Officer, Dante Disparte, noted that the recognition underscores Circle’s transparent, compliance-driven approach to creating interoperable digital dollars and euros to benefit businesses and financial institutions worldwide.
